About The Partners
Aims and objectives

The project is being taken forward on a partnership basis. The three partner organisations are as follows:
ECOTEC Research and Consulting Ltd
ECOTEC is the lead partner in the consortium for the project, with a principal role for research design and project management. ECOTEC specialises in public policy research and consultancy. In the UK, we have over 200 staff based in London, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester and Cardiff. ECOTEC is also a member of the ECORYS Group of research companies in Europe. ECOTEC brings an established track record of large scale research and evaluation at national and European level, with a focus on children and families, education and skills, labour markets, and regeneration.
The National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE)
NIACE is providing expert consultancy and development support for the project. Their role is to work alongside the local authorities and schools to facilitate the action research process. A national non-governmental organisation for England and Wales, the focus of NIACE's work is to represent the interests of, and improve opportunities for adults who have benefited least from previous education and training. This includes a strong focus on Family Learning, for which NIACE are expert providers of advocacy, development and research.
JB Associates
JB Associates is an independent consultancy, with an expert advisory role to the project. The company is headed by Professor John Bastiani - a published expert on family-school matters. John brings substantial knowledge and expertise on this subject in the capacity of teacher, tutor and consultant. John is a Visiting Professor in Education at Nottingham Trent University and founding member of the National Home-School Development Group. He has previously conducted numerous evaluations, developed guidance materials for the (then) DfES and directed the RSA's 'Parents in a Learning Society Project'.
